The Southeast Event Centre was built by the community, for the community, as a place for everyone to gather locally, play more, and grow together. We were honoured to have a role early on, starting with the brand development and logo design, then on to designing and supplying a series of displays and signage throughout the facility.

After the new logo and visual identity were ready for deployment, the next target was a massive fundraiser to generate the remaining funds needed for the event centre’s construction. We then shifted focus to printed and digital assets that equipped canvassers in that process.
Following a successful fundraiser and overwhelming generosity from private donors, we proceeded to roll out the brand through the facility, designing and supplying wayfinding signage, donor recognition walls, under ice ads and rink boards, concessions area branding, and various sponsorship signage installations.
We were pleased to work with world-class architectural and interior design teams that established the initial direction for the event centre’s aesthetic. Close collaboration meant our signage installations and sponsors’ recognition desires were cohesive and complemented the overall vision for the facility. Credit goes to Verne Reimer Architecture, Populous Architects, and Rodych Integrated Design for their incredible work on this project.
We had the privilege of delivering the main donor recognition wall that highlights the many generous supporters that were instrumental in making the Southeast Event Centre a reality. Ultimately, completing this project required a wide range of donors across our local communities, and the randomized plaque distribution recognizes that unity.
Our design takes a fresh approach to the traditional donor wall, making it a feature that enhances the surrounding space with a timeless, refined aesthetic. When interacting with the wall, viewers can trace category markers on each of the various donor plate sizes back to a legend that shows each level of contribution. The aluminum donor nameplates are balanced across an underlying grid system set against a backdrop of white oak slats.
We were asked to design and produce a community donor wall that highlights contributions from the general public. Working with the interior design team, we had the wall painted matte black to provide contrast with the glossy icon logos. All contributor names will be displayed together as a collage on the large yellow dimensional icon.
Providing design direction for the interior finishes in the concession areas on the first and second floors allowed us to stretch our creativity while seamlessly integrating the flagship tenant’s (HyLife Pork) brand with the facility’s overall aesthetic. We then installed branded elements throughout the spaces, including dimensional lettering, blade signs, and vinyl-wrapped feature walls.
As sponsors signed up to support various areas of the centre, we worked with them to design and install tasteful branding elements that worked cohesively with the building’s aesthetic. This included the Randolph Commons, Steinbach Sports Heritage Gallery, SCU Hall | Gym, Penn-Co Lounge, Steinbach Chamber of Commerce Meeting Rooms, walking track, NCU Game-On Play Zone, the Steinbach Online Media Suites, and the Steinbach Auto Dealers Premium Lounge.
